Trucking Australia 2014 to feature compliance masterclass

01 May 2014

The owners and executives of Fictitious Transport, a trucking business with 100 employees, need urgent help.

They know Fictitious Transport doesn’t spend enough on maintenance. They also suspect that some of their drivers have been issued with speeding tickets, although the company has not been notified by the police. They are worried about the company’s compliance with the chain of responsibility laws – and their personal liability.

At Trucking Australia 2014, delegates will develop a plan to help Fictitious Transport make sure its safety and compliance are up to scratch. Trucking Australia 2014 will be held on Hamilton Island on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 June 2014.

The masterclass will be led by Ian Pendered of Pentrans Consulting, a NSW-based registered training organisation. It provides a comprehensive range of accreditation services, as well as nationally recognised chain of responsibility, fatigue management, driving operations and logistics training.

“Fictitious Transport has been caught on the back foot – instead of addressing issues systematically, it now faces the heavy burden of bringing all its compliance activity up to date at once,” Mr Pendered said.

“In the masterclass, I’ll share some details about Fictitious Transport and the current state of its compliance activities – or lack of them. Our delegates will then work as teams to bring Fictitious Transport into line with the chain of responsibility requirements.

“In this frank discussion, delegates will debate the benefits of different compliance measures, as well as how to make sure compliance procedures stay strong over time.”

The chain of responsibility masterclass will start at 4:00 pm on Friday 6 June at the Hamilton Island Convention Centre, followed by a relaxed outdoor dinner hosted by BPW Transpec in Hamilton Island’s Front Street.

Trucking Australia 2014 will also feature first class forums, business training, the famous Kenworth Legends Luncheon and the presentation of the 2014 National Trucking Industry Awards at the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala Awards Dinner.

Full delegate registration for Trucking Australia 2014 is only $475 (incl GST), and four star accommodation is available at the special event rate of only $270 per night (incl GST).
