Nominations for trucking industry technical award now open

02 August 2013

Nominations for the 2013 Craig Roseneder Award are now open. One of the prestigious National Trucking Industry Awards, the Craig Roseneder Award celebrates innovation and excellence in the workshop by an individual.

The Craig Roseneder Award is sponsored by Castrol, the world’s leading specialist provider of lubricant solutions. It will be presented on Monday 28 October at the Castrol Awards Dinner during the 2013 PACCAR & Dealer TMC, presented by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) and the Australian Road Transport Suppliers’ Association (ARTSA).

The 2012 winner of the award was John Schulze, who was at the time the Mechanical Services Manager of FBT Transwest in Victoria. Mr Schulze joined FBT Transwest as an apprentice motor mechanic in 1970, and during his career developed innovative, safe methods for transporting dangerous goods.

Mr Schulze said the Craig Roseneder Award inspired people to reach the highest standards in their work.

“To get an award like this and be recognised by the industry is great. These are your peers. It’s great that they have faith in you and the work that you do,” he said.

The award is open to any individual who works full‐time as a workshop manager or mechanic in the Australian trucking industry for a trucking company, supplier or commercial workshop. Nominees need to have at least five years of experience in their field. Self-nominations are not accepted.

The winner of the 2013 Craig Roseneder Award will receive a full registration to attend the American Trucking Associations’ 2014 Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee, return economy airfares, premium accommodation, AUD$1,500 in spending money and a partners’ program registration if applicable.

The winner will also receive a complimentary registration to the 2014 PACCAR and Dealer TMC.

Nominations must be received by Monday 23 September 2013. For more information or to lodge a nomination, visit www.truck.net.au/public/national-awards.
