Nominations now open for workshop excellence award

07 August 2014

Nominations are now open for the 2014 Craig Roseneder Award, one of the prestigious National Trucking Industry awards.

Sponsored by Castrol Vecton, the Craig Roseneder Award recognises technical and maintenance excellence in the workshop by an individual. The award is open to anyone who works full-time as a workshop manager or mechanic in the Australian trucking industry for a trucking company, supplier or commercial workshop.

The Chief Executive of the Australian Trucking Association, Stuart St Clair, said the winners of the Craig Roseneder Award were some of Australia’s most dedicated workshop professionals.

“Safety is our industry’s number one priority, and our workshop staff play an essential part in making sure we have safe, reliable vehicles on the road,” Mr St Clair said.

“But as well as keeping vehicles in top shape, many workshops actively push to improve safety in our industry by developing new solutions to trucking problems.

“2013 Craig Roseneder winner Wayne Merrick from Boral Logistics developed and introduced a number of important safety features to their fleet after listening to complaints from drivers, including a tailgate lock indicator for tipper bins and LED undersill door lights.

“It’s this sort of can-do attitude that really sets our winners apart. If you know an outstanding workshop manager or mechanic like this, I urge you to nominate them for this award.”

The winner of the 2014 Craig Roseneder award will receive a trip to the American Trucking Associations’ 2015 Technology and Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition, courtesy of Castrol Vecton.

The prize includes registration, return airfares, premium accommodation, AUD$1500 in spending money and a partner’s program registration if applicable. The winner will also receive complimentary registration to the 2015 PACCAR and Dealer TMC.

The 2014 Craig Roseneder Award will be presented at the Castrol Vecton Awards Dinner on Tuesday 28 October 2014 as part of the 2014 PACCAR and Dealer TMC. The Castrol Vecton Industry Achievement Award will also be presented on the night.
