Get inside safety-critical maintenance and compliance at TMC 2014

25 July 2014

Registrations are now open for the 2014 PACCAR and Dealer TMC, the trucking industry’s premier technical and maintenance event presented by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) and the Australian Road Transport Suppliers’ Association.

The Chief Executive of the ATA, Stuart St Clair, said TMC 2014 would provide trucking businesses and workshops with the answers to improve safety and compliance in their heavy vehicle fleet.

“We know there are some fleets that attract the attention of the authorities and some fleets that get through their inspections with minimal fuss,” Mr St Clair said.

“At TMC 2014, attendees will discuss what inspectors are looking for in a heavy vehicle and how to deal with compliance under the NHVR.

“The TMC 2014 program puts safety-critical maintenance first, with sessions to help businesses get the most out of their tyres, brakes, suspension and couplings.

“As well as obvious safety and regulatory benefits, there are massive economic advantages for businesses who can avoid vehicle downtime and reduce component wear through an effective maintenance program.”

TMC 2014 includes a full program of technical sessions, compliance forums and hands-on product training workshops. Delegates can move between four program streams to get the training and advice most relevant to their business.

TMC 2014 will also include the ALLRig TMC Funhouse, the TMC industry supplier Marketplace, and the presentation of the 2014 Craig Roseneder Memorial Award and the Castrol Vecton Industry Achievement Award at the Castrol Vecton Awards Dinner.

Mr St Clair said the ATA had reduced the price of registration to make it easier for businesses to upskill or refresh the knowledge of their maintenance staff.

“Safety and productivity improvements shouldn’t be kept secret. We want every workshop to be able to send their staff to TMC, so we’ve cut the cost of registration to $495 – the same price as ten years ago.

“From the youngest apprentice to the most senior workshop manager, TMC 2014 can provide the information and training to help delegates get better results from their fleet – better safety outcomes, better equipment life and a better bottom line.”

The 2014 PACCAR and Dealer TMC will run from Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 October 2014 at the Automotive Centre of Excellence at the Kangan Institute in Melbourne.
