Vale Chris Mullett

13 August 2020
The Australian Trucking Association is mourning the death of transport publisher Chris Mullett.

With a more than 30-year long career, Mr Mullett wrote for the Daily Mirror and Daily Telegraph, before founding and managing Power Torque magazine and Delivery magazine with his wife Maree.

“Chris Mullett was a passionate and outspoken member of the transport industry,” ATA Chair David Smith said today.

“Chris was extremely knowledgeable of industry and we are deeply saddened by his passing,” Mr Smith said.

Former ATA Chair Geoff Crouch said Mr Mullett had a great understanding of the industry, holding multicombination transport licences coupled with experience behind the wheel.

“I had worked with Chris many times over the past 15 years, and was impressed by his incredible breadth and depth of industry knowledge,” Mr Crouch said.

“A lovely character, Chris had an incredible passion and excelled in reporting international trends and developments back to Australian operators,” he said.

Mr Smith said the ATA and wider trucking community extend their sincere condolences to Mr Mullett’s family.

“Our deepest sympathies go to Chris’ wife Maree, their family and friends,” he said.
