To celebrate International Women’s Day today, the Australian Trucking Association is calling for nominations for its National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year Award.

This award is one of the annual National Trucking Industry Awards, which are presented each year by the ATA.

A trucking business with a hundred employees is struggling. Its major customers have insisted on a rate cut and its costs are rising. Its costs will go up even further when the carbon tax starts in July 2014.

Delegates at Trucking Australia 2013 will work in teams to develop a turnaround plan for this business. Trucking Australia 2013 will be held at Hamilton Island on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 June.

The Chairman of the Australian Trucking Association, David Simon, will address the National Press Club in Canberra on 3 April 2013.
As part of his speech, Mr Simon will release a major report into road funding and how the trucking industry is charged for its use of the road system.
