Help support trucking in the ATA Auction

05 May 2016

Trucking operators can bid on state of the art trucking industry equipment and support the industry in the Australian Trucking Association’s 2016 Auction, launched today at the International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show in Melbourne.

Major items available in the 2016 ATA auction include:

  • a Volvo FH540 Euro 5 Prime Mover;
  • a hand-painted Thermo King SB-330 refrigeration unit;
  • a new Thermo King SLXe-400 refrigeration unit;
  • a B Double tyre set from Bridgestone, including 2 steer, 8 Ecopia drive and 24 Ecopia trailer tyres; and
  • a CIMC Rear Drop Deck Curtainsider Trailer with Mezzanine Decks.

ATA Communications and Corporate Relations Manager, Steve Power, said the proceeds of the auction would go to support the ATA’s campaigns to improve the safety and viability of the Australian trucking industry.

“Volvo Trucks Australia has generously provided a new Volvo FH540 prime mover, featuring the safety, performance, reliability and comfort that has seen the Volvo FH series increasingly dominate Australia’s linehaul routes.

CIMC Trailers is continuing to demonstrate its enormous commitment to the Australian trucking industry. Now in its sixth year supporting the ATA Auction, CIMC has this year provided a supremely versatile Rear Drop Deck Curtainsider Trailer with Mezzanine Decks, proudly emblazoned with the slogan ‘Australian trucking - everything to everywhere’.

“Thermo King began supplying fridge units to support the ATA in 1996. This year, Thermo King continues its support with a hand-painted SB-330, which will be unveiled at the auction night during Trucking Australia 2016. Thermo King has also generously provided one of its new SLXe-400 units, which it proudly calls ‘the next generation in transport refrigeration’.

“Bridgestone’s Ecopia tyre range can save you fuel without compromising on safety or comfort. Their generous contribution of a full B Double tyre set will give the winning bidder the chance to try these out for themselves, while also supporting the trucking industry.”

The ATA Auction will take place at the Lights, Camera, Auction! event at Warner Bros. Movie World on 23 June as part of Trucking Australia 2016.
