TruckWeek 2012: show Australia how trucking delivers

19 June 2012

Every trucking business will be able to show Australia how trucking delivers, with the launch of TruckWeek 2012 – a week of trucking industry events from 19-25 August 2012.

The Chairman of the Australian Trucking Association, David Simon, said trucking businesses and ATA member associations would be able to use the week to show what they do, as well as promoting road safety and the dedication of their staff.

“Trucking delivers three-quarters of Australia’s freight, we have made great strides on safety and we have some of the most dedicated staff in the country. It’s time to show Australia how we deliver and celebrate trucking,” Mr Simon said.

“I urge every trucking operator to visit the national TruckWeek website, www.truckweek.com.au, have a look at our ideas and then register an event.

“You will benefit by promoting your business, and the whole industry will benefit from the profile created by the myriad of events across the country.

“The national TruckWeek site has a host of great event ideas, including awards to recognise your most dedicated and safety-conscious staff. If you register your event on the TruckWeek website, we’ll even send you official award certificates,” Mr Simon said.

The website also includes information and resources about:

  • hosting a politician;
  • talking to local media;
  • holding a TruckWeek barbecue;
  • hosting an information session for local service clubs; and
  • visiting a local school.

Mr Simon said the ATA would promote the TruckWeek events through the national TruckWeek website, media and the TruckWeek Twitter feed, @TruckWeek.
