01 March 2012

Nominations for the 2012 Australian National Trucking Industry Awards are now open. These prestigious awards acknowledge and promote the commitment and achievements of individuals and organisations in all fields of endeavour throughout the road freight transport industry.

The awards will be presented on Friday 18 May at the 2012 Australian Trucking Convention in Rosehill, Sydney. The Rosehill Gardens event centre will play host to the spectacular black tie dinner, sponsored by the ATA’s foundation sponsors; BP Australia, NTI Insurance and Volvo Group Australia. The awards now open for nominations include:

•    Outstanding contribution to the Australian Trucking Industry;
•    National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year;
•    National Professional Driver of the Year;
•    Training Excellence Award; and the
•    Highway Guardian Award.

Nominations must be received by 20 April 2012.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Trucking Association, Stuart St Clair, said “The National Trucking Industry Awards showcase some of the most committed individuals and businesses in the industry. Each one is a great ambassador and contributor to the industry we love.

“There are fantastic prizes to be won, including international travel packages. However, the true value of these awards is far more wide reaching.”

Merv Rowlands, winner of the 2009 Craig Roseneder Award, said “Awards can recognise, reward, motivate, set benchmarks; and inspire innovation, initiative and risk. The award would not only be recognition for the individual, but also the company that has fostered the talent. I can guarantee that it would - incrementally, at least - help to raise your company’s profile, professional image and employee performance. And you can pay a lot of money and go to a lot of effort to do that.”
