Chris Melham appointed to TruckSafe board

21 September 2012

The trucking industry’s safety accreditation program, TruckSafe, is pleased to announce the appointment of NatRoad Chief Executive Officer Chris Melham to the TruckSafe Board.

TruckSafe is the trucking industry’s leader in business and risk management and is aimed at improving the safety and professionalism of trucking operators nationwide. Trucking operators accredited under TruckSafe are twice as safe as non-accredited operators.

ATA Chairman David Simon said he was delighted to welcome Chris to the Board.

“With his wide range of knowledge and experience, Chris will bring a valuable new perspective to the TruckSafe board,” Mr Simon said.

“I welcome Chris’ appointment, and I look forward to seeing the results of his input into the TruckSafe program.”

Mr Melham said he was keen to joining the board as they continue to improve the TruckSafe program.

“My first priority is to work with the board to position TruckSafe in its rightful place as a recognised accreditation program by the new National Heavy Vehicle Regulator,” Mr Melham said.

“I aim to ensure that road transport operators across the country will have the opportunity to sign up to a national, uniform, road safety initiative.

“I look forward to promoting TruckSafe and its benefits to NatRoad members across the country, and continuing to contribute to improving safety on our roads.”
