National freight data hub options paper

18 September 2020

The Australian Government should incorporate strong data principles into the design of the National Freight Data Hub.

The ATA and NatRoad made the call in a joint submission in response to DITRDC’s National Freight Data Hub Options Paper.

The submission argues that the data principles incorporated into the hub should include:

  • data provision by industry should be voluntary
  • data should not be used for regulatory or enforcement purposes
  • confidentiality of firm and individual data should be protected
  • data should only be available in de-identified, aggregate form.
