Support the trucking industry with the 2015 ATA auction

20 February 2015

Trucking operators have the chance to bid on state of the art trucking industry equipment and support the industry at the Australian Trucking Association’s 2015 Auction night at Trucking Australia 2015.

Taking place on Thursday 19 March in Hobart, the Auction will feature a range of items including a Volvo FH540 Euro 5 Prime Mover, a CIMC Flat Deck Curtainsider B-double trailer set, a Thermo King custom painted S700 Precedent fridge unit, the unpainted Thermo King S600 fridge unit from the Safety Truck, and a full B-double set of 32 tyres from Bridgestone.

ATA Chief Executive Stuart St Clair said the funds from the auction would go to support the ATA’s work.

“This year we are excited to host our auction night as part of Trucking Australia 2015. It will be a great night out, with live entertainment, good company and a range of Tasmania’s famous local produce, including fresh seafood, cheese, and locally produced beers, wine and cider,” Mr St Clair said.

“Volvo Trucks Australia has generously provided a new 2015 Volvo FH540 prime mover for the auction. This prime mover features the safety, performance, reliability and comfort that has seen the Volvo FH series increasingly dominate Australia’s linehaul routes.

CIMC Trailers, Marshall Lethlean and GTE continue to demonstrate their enormous commitment to the Australian trucking industry, now in its fifth year, with a Flat Deck Curtainsider B-double trailer set.

“Featuring the slogan ‘this trailer brings you the goods you use every day’, this trailer set has been superbly decked out with high-end fittings and safety features from a range of OEM suppliers.

“Thermo King began supplying fridge units to support the ATA in 1996, including the famous hand-painted unit. This year, Thermo King will offer a brand new painted S700 Precedent unit, with the design to be unveiled at the auction, and the S600 Precedent unit taken from the ATA Safety Truck.

“We are also pleased to offer a full set of thirty-two tyres for a B-double trailer set plus drive wheels, courtesy of Bridgestone. These industry-leading tyres feature a brand-new tread compound designed and developed for Australian roads.

“In addition to these major items, there will be a range of holiday accommodation and other merchandise up for auction on the night.

“I encourage operators to come along to the auction night, and consider placing a bid on some of these items. Not only will you be competing for state-of-the-art equipment, you’ll also be helping to support the trucking industry.”

Operators are able to make pre-auction bids for the major items listed above. For further information on the major auction items or to place a bid, go to www.truck.net.au/auction.
