Registrations open for Trucking Australia 2016

27 November 2015

Registrations are now open for Trucking Australia 2016, the ATA’s peak national event where operators are invited to help develop the trucking industry’s plans and priorities.

Trucking Australia 2016 will be held at the Sea World Resort on the Gold Coast from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 June 2016.

ATA Chief Executive Christopher Melham said Trucking Australia was all about turning industry ideas and concerns into action.

“Industry regulation and red tape affect everyone, whether you own one truck or manage a fleet,” Mr Melham said.

“Every member of our industry is invited to have their say at Trucking Australia 2016, where you will help develop industry action plans for the big issues facing trucking.

“Delegates can add directly to the plans through on-floor discussions, surveys, and real-time social media feeds. These action plans are then fed into the ATA’s strategic plan, which determines how the ATA tackles these issues in our industry.

“For example, delegates at Trucking Australia 2015 directed the ATA to lobby for the chain of responsibility laws to be made fairer, and to extend them to vehicle maintenance. Australia’s Transport and Infrastructure ministers have now approved many of the ATA’s recommendations in a new CoR package which does just that.

“Trucking Australia is about getting better results for your operations, too. You’ll take away valuable insights and training to apply directly in your own business, with a business contracts masterclass and the MTData Business lunch.

“It’s also a great opportunity to network and reconnect with trucking industry peers across Australia, with the opening night Auction Dinner at Warner Bros Movie World, the MTData business lunch, the BPW Transpec Dinner and the Kenworth Legends Luncheon.

“It all culminates in the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala Awards Dinner on the Saturday night, where we announce the winners of the 2016 National Trucking Industry Awards and celebrate their achievements.

“Trucking Australia has sold out early for the last three years running. I urge operators to secure your place early to ensure you’re included in these critical industry discussions,” Mr Melham said.

Full delegate registration for Trucking Australia 2016 is just $495 (inc GST). On-site accommodation is available at the 4½ star Sea World Resort, with special delegate rates starting from $169 per room, per night.
