Matt Butler from Boral appointed to peak body board

02 May 2013

The Australian Trucking Association has appointed the NSW/ACT Regional Manager of Boral Logistics, Matt Butler, to its board.

The ATA is the peak body that represents the trucking industry throughout Australia. Its members include state and sector trucking associations, major logistics companies, including Boral, and businesses with leading expertise in truck technology.

The Chairman of the ATA, David Simon, said Mr Butler’s transport and financial management experience would be an asset to the board.

“In his role at Boral, Matt operates a substantial fleet of tippers and pneumatic powder tankers and oversees the Boral Group’s line haul freight activities. Boral’s equipment, technology and safety management systems are up there with the best in the business,” Mr Simon said.

“Before he joined Boral, Matt worked in the investment management sector. His expertise in this area will enable him to make a strong contribution to the board’s decisions about financial issues.”

Mr Butler said he would work on the ATA board to make sure the organisation had the systems and resources to continue promoting road safety and compliance.

“I am also particularly interested in making sure the ATA can keep working to ensure a fair and equitable outcome for all operators under any future road funding model,” Mr Butler said.

Boral Logistics is part of the Boral Group’s Construction Materials and Cement division.
