International blockchain expert to speak at Trucking Australia 2018

15 March 2018

Blockchain. It’s a digital technology that revolutionises freight tracking, proof of delivery, payments and more.

At Trucking Australia 2018, to be held in Canberra from 18-20 April, delegates will hear from international keynote speaker Tim Leonard. Tim is a 2017 Hortonworks Data Visionary Award recipient and Chief Information Officer of TMW Systems.

ATA CEO Ben Maguire said that delegates at Trucking Australia 2017 had told the ATA they wanted to learn more about this new technology.

“Tim will uncover what blockchain is and its application to the transport industry. He’ll walk through a live demonstration of blockchain solutions that businesses can and are implementing right now,” Mr Maguire said.

“For businesses, blockchain offers major advantages such as greater transparency, security and transaction speed.

“But building a blockchain system requires extensive planning and design. The ATA is delighted to partner with TMW Systems to deliver this international keynote, because of its transport expertise and technical knowledge,” he said.

Trucking Australia 2018 will also feature:

  • vital workshops about the new master safety code and executive officer due diligence
  • the ATA Safety Summit, where delegates will put their views and vote on the safety ideas that they want the industry to take forward
  • the chance to network across the industry.

Full delegate registrations for Trucking Australia 2018 are only $595 (inc GST). Day registration packages are also available.
