New ATA Chair Geoff Crouch

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has elected Geoff Crouch as its new Chair. Mr Crouch was elected unopposed at the ATA’s annual general meeting in Canberra yesterday.

Mr Crouch ended his term as President of ATA member association NatRoad in 2015 and is the managing director of Ron Crouch Transport, where he has worked since 1995. He has a deep understanding of the trucking industry both as an operator and at an association level.

“I am very proud to represent the ATA and the trucking industry as the new Chair. I wish to thank my predecessor, Noelene Watson, for all of her tireless hard work. If I can be half as good a Chair as Noelene I will consider my tenure very successful indeed,” Mr Crouch said.

“I look forward to working with the ATA board and council, and I wish to thank them for all of their hard work and their support.

“The trucking industry is made up of so many exceptional people, and I am excited to work with our state and territory member associations and all our sponsors to maintain and improve road safety, industry viability and professionalism,” Mr Crouch said.

Former ATA Chair David Simon was re-elected to the board, as was the Chair of the ATA’s Safety Committee, Tim Knowles.

Geoff Luff, a director of Border Express was also elected to the board.

“I am proud to be able to represent the ATA as a director and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead,” Mr Luff said.

Andrew Garrety was re-elected as the ATA’s Secretary/Treasurer.
