LBCA Annual Conference

The key NSW regional road freight event of the year, the 2012 Livestock and Bulk Carriers Association annual conference, will be held on 24-25 February at the Dubbo Showground.

The 2012 LBCA conference program is one of the most important programs the LBCA has had to date, focusing on key industry issues that are in the pipeline for major action in 2012!  The conference provides the chance to educate, engage and debate these important issues with the people that matter.

The keynote speakers attending the conference include:

•    The Hon. Duncan Gay, NSW Roads Minister
•    Rachel Johnson, Deputy Director General, Freight and Regional Development Division at Transport for NSW
•    Richard Hancock, Project Director, NHVR
•    Peter Wells, Director, Regulatory Services (RMS)
•    Allan Pincott, rollover expert from VicRoads

Some of the key issues to be discussed and debated include:

•    How is the new TfNSW and RMS structure going to deliver better efficiency and productivity gains on the road for you?
•    It is time to finalise the detail of a NSW livestock volume loading scheme and really deliver a workable and productive scheme with no impeding restrictions!
•    How do we deliver realistic and cost effective “route assurance” systems and fix infrastructure blockages to deliver an optimal HML network across the state?
•    How do we open up more Higher Productivity Vehicle access?
•    How do we continue to improve grain supply chain efficiencies to increase productivity gains in this sector?
•    Is the NHVR going to deliver benefits and clarity – what will be different?
•    Is there going to be a new world for A-Trailer charging post July 2012? What will the long term implications be?
•    Time for common sense and objective discussions and debates about how we can use technology to benefit industry.

There will also be exciting and energetic social events, including a professional bull ride (real bulls!) complete with champion cowboys from around Australia.
